President’s Report

March 2019

This semester has been a great one for the undergraduates in Lambda Deuteron, we initiated 6 new brothers: Kevin Lam (Electrical Engineering, Ryerson), Austin Swartz (Construction Trades, George Brown), Nicolas Valdez (Film Production, Toronto Film School), Serban Stirbulescu (Global Management Studies, Ryerson), Nikola Georgievski (Child and Youth Care, Ryerson), Jovan Latkovic (Masters of Aerospace Engineering, U of T).  This puts us at 22 active brothers!

We were able to meet our fundraising goal of $500 for the semester, thanks to our philanthropy chair Alexander James Taylor and his organization of a TDX jazz night for Sick Kids Children’s Hospital. We can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve for next semester to hit our $750 goal!

Our house manager has identified parts of the house that need to be repaired and has made a plan to finish all house upgrades during the summer.  Some areas of concern to we undergraduates is the shaving down and lamination of the floors as well as replacing some doors to more secure metal ones.

As we push forward into another school year there are a couple of areas that we do see need improving.  Even though we had a great year this year, we can have an even better one next year.  Some areas that we will focus more heavily on next semester are academic excellence, philanthropic endeavours and brotherhood participation.  With a solid plan and some hard working brothers, there isn’t a lot we cannot achieve.
